Cat Mama’s Sanctuary gives lifelong refuge to homeless, feral, sick, and abandoned cats.

We’re raising urgent funds to move our nonprofit cat sanctuary back to Arizona, where our cats once thrived. Last year, we moved to West Virginia to be closer to family. But it’s become painfully clear this is not the right place for our sanctuary. Since arriving, we’ve faced devastating losses — 8 of our cats have passed in just 10 months. Many were healthy before the move. Now, our current home has been found to have mold, which may be contributing to respiratory issues and weakened immune systems in our cats.

This is Simon, who we lost to respiratory complications suspected from fungus/mold 😿

We're reaching out because we need your help. We need to raise at least $50,000 to relocate Cat Mama’s Sanctuary back to Arizona — to a beautiful rural property we found that has the space our cats need to thrive. These are desert cats that came from the streets and they are their most happiest and alive when they're able to be outside free roaming on a property designed for their safety and enrichment. Unfortunately the property we are at in West Virginia doesn't support this and it's apparent their quality of life has declined and caused depression and stress in many of the cats. We need to fix this, we need to get back to the life they respond to the best. By supporting this move, you will help us cover:

  • Down payment on the new property

  • Transport for 50+ cats (RV rental, crates, fuel)

  • Moving truck and travel costs

  • Cat fencing, outdoor enclosures, trailers for shelter

  • Enrichment: cat-safe play structures, trees, and shelter upgrades

Our sanctuary is home to cats that most others turn away. Many came to us after being injured, abandoned, or living on the streets their entire lives. Here, they are seen, loved, and given a second chance.

Living their best lives in Arizona...

We’re not a big rescue with grants or staff — just a deep soul calling to love the forgotten. We didn't realize this change in environment would affect the cats in such a big way. They went from having a 10,000 sq ft backyard to run around in, to a 2,000 sq ft catio. Their spirits aren't as bright, inclement weather keeps them indoors more than outdoors, and every time we look in their eyes they are asking for us to give them their old life back. And that's what we need to do. The new property is on half an acre and exactly what they need to start living their best lives again. We admit, this is our error in thinking, we thought it would work. But the cats have told us otherwise and now we must listen and do what's in their best interest.

Please donate if you feel moved, and share if you can. If just 1,000 people gave $50, we could reach our goal. Every act of support helps us move toward a brighter, healthier future for these cats that trust us to take care of them and give them the life they deserve. Thank you so much for supporting our sanctuary. It means more than you know🙏
